Harvest has began! Every day begins and ends the same, I am always checking the weather because the next few weeks are very dependent on it. We still need to plant garlic and harvest potatoes, beets, and carrots. All while managing the other farm tasks and weekly veggie harvests. We are keeping our eye on the weather because if it gets too cold and there happens to be snow in the forecast we need to get the potatoes out fast. Meanwhile we are waiting for it to cool down so that our cold room gets colder and we can start harvesting carrots so that we aren’t out there with our winter gear on, which has definitely happened in the past 😉. It is bitter sweet, nobody wants to say goodbye to the fresh summer greens but we are all excited for it to slow down a bit around here. #happyharvest #peacecountry #harvest2023 #winteriscoming #carrots It was a great farm tour today! Last year was pretty good, and I saved all of the biggest and best garlic bulbs to plant. I am so happy with the results.
